For every woman who’s ever been in my position there comes the daunting task of packing the hospital bag. Questions such as ‘are these knickers big enough?’ and ‘are these the comfiest pjs I own?’ run through your head. Of course, it’s an extremely exciting time and I’ve really enjoyed preparing my bag but you do have to pick out some essential items that will help you through the journey about to be taken.
For the Mama:
- Maternity Pads
- Big Pants (the fuller the better and darker in colour is advised- like these) (I thought you’d prefer me not to take pictures of knickers)
- Nursing Bra
- Nursing Pads
- Comfy Clothing
- Comfy Pjs
- Comfy outfit to go home in
I’ve actually packed two pairs of PJ’s. The super simplistic black pj bottoms which I thought would be nice to put on just after the birth before coming home. Then I’ve packed a second pair just incase I end up staying in a little longer (plus they’re super festive!)
On top of this I’ve packed my super comfortable Bump it Up Sweatshirt dress. Not only has this been super useful for pregnancy- it has elastic for a growing bump.. but it also will be comfortable for after birth whilst my body recovers.
Sweatshirt dress: Bump it Up at Yours Clothing
My comfy clothing comes courtesy of Yours Clothing and basically consists of a matching joggers and hoodie combo. I’ve actually already spent the past few days living in these so I can attest to their comfort and cosiness levels which are tip top. I figured after having little bubba all I’m gonna wanna do is put on my slouchiest stuff and chill and these allow me to do just that!
These joggers and hoodie have the perfect cuffs around the bottom which keep all the warmth in (so perfect for winter). Oh and as someone who’s quite tall you’ll be pleased to know the hoodie has long sleeves! YAHOO. (Yes the images below include Raspberry Leaf tea… my go to at the min).
For the Baby:
- Nappies (I have just packed a full pack)
- Muslin Squares
- 3 Baby Vests
- 3 full Baby Grows
- Scratch Mittens and Socks
- Outfit for leaving Hospital
- Snacks !!!
- Spare clothes for partner
- Change for parking
- Charger for Phone
- HOSPITAL NOTES
Please let me know if I’ve missed something- theres still time to add more! 🙂
