For anyone who follows me on twitter, you may know the ordeal I had with trying to get a dress for my sisters wedding. Having originally purchased a dress before becoming pregnant I was a little apprehensive how to make the dress work. I swapped dress, which caused more chaos than calm and just didn’t work. Then finally my mother in law stepped in like Wonder woman and altered my dress to make it baby bump friendly.
This dress, from ASOS is unfortunately no longer in stock but a beautiful Grecian gown that fits my idea of a bridesmaid dress just perfectly. You can however, find similar dresses here, here and here. The fabric is lightweight, comfortable and draped beautifully. It has a stunning sparkly belt that would look lovely on most shapes- it just had to be lifted to accommodate my bump.
The Mother in Law (hereby to be referred to as MIL) lifted the dress, to create an empire waist band, added a touch of elastic and a gorgeous little bow to the back to bring all the elements together. Thank you Christine. MIL also lifted the dress and worked wonders with the shoulders.
The wedding day itself was wonderful. My sister looked beautiful and the weather was just what was expected of a Tuscan environment. Hot and sunny. I was thankful for the open back on this dress which let a little air in. To combat the heat I did a DIY up do which I’m pretty chuffed with (Thank you to my mamma for positioning the Gypsophilia).
Here’s a token picture of me and Joe anyway, because I know you all love to see his smiling face. Extra thanks to him for fanning me throughout the day and bringing me water.
