Monochrome Maxi

In preparation for my upcoming holiday I’ve been keeping an eye out for more of my favourite ever pieces of clothing- maxi dresses. I get my maxi dresses from the usual suspects: ASOS, Yours Clothing and New Look, so when my local Zara had a closing down sale I had little hope of finding anything in there. Let alone in my size! To my surprise I found the dress pictured below. A simple striped maxi dress that reminded me of a Tim Burton film in a way…

The dress cut is lovely, and the length is perfect for me. I wanted it to be a little bit higher than the ground so I could pair it with some fun sandals if I felt the need. Most surprising of all is the sizing of this dress, which is a M. Zara is notorious for sizing low but as it’s probably deemed an ‘oversized’ maxi I’m guessing larger sizes would be suitable for us bigger girls. I picked it up on a bit of a whim at £12 thinking if it didn’t fit I could just pop it on Ebay or something, but surprise surprise I adore it and it will be travelling with me to Italy at the end of August.

I think my most favourite part of the dress is the back detailing. Which is looped through eyelets that tie in beautiful little bows giving a gorgeous feminine touch to the monochrome stripes. If you need to wear a bra as your bosom is heaving, then please go right ahead- I wore one with it the first time but opted for one of those stick on thingy-ma-bobbys here, yes that is the correct term.
I’ve been struggling to find something similar to this to link to you all so if any of you lovely readers have seen something please pop it in the comments below and share for others.

  1. Oh my gosh, this is beautiful – you are beautiful! I love a bare back, I think it is my uppermost in sex appeal so dresses like this always excite me!
