Black Lace with Yours Clothing

When Yours Clothing asked if I’d be interested in reviewing one of their Christmas pieces I deliciously began pouring over their website. The range of clothing available (and at affordable prices) overwhelmed me a little at first. But do not fear! Yours Clothing have sectioned this up into Novelty, Glitz & Glam, Party Outfits, Velvet & Lace and more. It made my choosing a lot easier as I knew I was lusting over lace this season.

I could have picked overlay, bodycon, or skater dresses in the lace style but with the festive season coming up… and my appetite getting marginally bigger I opted for the sensible Swing dress. Always a keeper in my book, and often referred to as the ‘Cake Dress’ with my friends. If you haven’t got the joke, basically you can eat lots of cake in it and no one will notice the little food baby underneath ;-). No Shrinking Violet

This dress beautifully combines the swing dress with the very on trend bardot style giving the lace a modern glamour about it. I sometimes get a bit reluctant to wear lace as it can often itch (is this just me?) but the material of this is STUNNING. It’s like silk over your skin and I’d highly recommend it for those who like me can often struggle with itchy material.

I kept jewellery simple, sticking to a bracelet also picked up from Yours Clothing. This cute beautifully coloured blue and diamond bracelet was the perfect addition to the outfit. It is on elastic so will stretch to fit your wrist (if like me you have big wrists don’t worry!)

The detailing is gorgeous and it really doesn’t look cheap. This accessory is the perfect addition to a plain outfit, a black dress like the one I’m wearing or even a nice pastel-ly coloured jumper. I would wear it day or night without fear- it’s a keeper.

Let’s get onto the sizing and length as I know this is a major question above all our heads when we buy an item. This dress is a size 16. I’m a bit of an inbetweeny myself and sometimes a 14 and othertimes a 16. The 16 is the perfect fit for me, comfortable and sits past my shoulders just right. I’ve bought clothes from Yours before and found them to be true to size. The length again, I’m over the moon with, the dress just touches my knee meaning I can wear heels without tripping over and surprising my neighbours after a few eggnogs too many.

I styled the dress with a classic red lip and nails entitled ‘Temptation’ – ooh saucy! Nothing too drastic, simple and classic. As for the shoes, they’re my Tesco heels as seen on my other post here.

I’ve got some pretty glamorous events coming up and I CANNOT wait to show you the dresses in store.
