Elvi Buckle Trousers

The darker days are here and it’s making it more difficult to snap that perfect blog photo with the hours of sunlight we’re given. I’ve always been a sucker for black clothing so when Elvi offered to send me these trousers I was over the moon. Firstly because they’re perfect for work, and secondly because Bethany of Arched Eyebrow donned the same ones in Snake Skin and I’d fallen in love with them. No Shrinking Violet

Top: Primark
Trousers: Elvi *
Shoes: Tesco F&F
Coat: Topshop (old)
Bag: Osprey (old)

Firstly let’s take a moment to appreciate the buckled detail that gives this cross-over look. They’re perfect to wear to work like I did or you could jazz them up with a sparkly top and wear them out. That little hint of a buckle takes these from plain black trousers to just a little bit more interesting. I paired them with a simple black polo neck that cost about £4 in Primark and is available in every colour.  No Shrinking Violet

In terms of sizing, I went for a 16 and although when I first put them on I thought maybe they’re a little snug it’s probably the right size. I think I constantly up-size of fear of things being too fitting. Once I’d got them past my thunder thighs I was all good. These trousers DESERVE to be fitting, they make your legs look smashing. The length is good for me, but I can imagine anyone taller it would be a no-go. I wanted them to sit just on my belly button and they fall just right.

They’re a definite for my winter wardrobe for work but I may even carry them through to summer due to their light-weight material. I’m thinking pair with a light nude vest.
